How to Configure Custom Zones on Your TV using DotSignage Digital Signage

A digital screen offers lots of space to create content. By dividing the screen space into multiple zones, we can offer more engagement to viewers.

Taking note of this, we have come up with this feature wherein you can divide your screen space into multiple zones maximum upto 5 and play with the content as per your need.

In this blog, we will showcase how multiple zones can be created for your screen.

How to Setup Multiple Zones with DotSignage

Upon tapping on the Device section in the DotSignage Portal, you will be redirected to create layout and assign schedules.

Device Orientation: We have four options of device orientations to select from:

1.Landscape – Choose this layout if you want to show your information in Horizontal TV Screen
2.Portrait – Choose this layout option for Vertical TV screen
3.Landscape Upside Down – Choose this option if you want to show information in Horizontal mode but your TV screen position is upside down (Rotate to 180 degree)
4.Portrait Upside Down – Choose this option if you want to show information in vertical mode but your TV screen position is upside down (Rotate to 180 degree)

Predefined screen layouts: 4 in-built templates are already created which can be selected or you can create your own layout dividing the screen to maximum of 5 zones.

Tap on Edit Custom Layout at the bottom right of the screen and define the kind of layout you need. Tap on Add Section to add more sections. Maximum of 5 sections can be added.

o Left indicates the starting point of the layout corresponding to each zone.
o Top indicates the top part of each zone.
o Width and height need to be defined based on the respective zone.

To summarize, the left and width are related to the screen’s width and top and height are related to screen height.

Following example explains the layout creation in a better way.

The screen is divided into three zones. Top half taking the entire screen space and the bottom part divided into two equal parts.
